There is a disturbing development in the fight for animal welfare. The UK Government is reportedly engaging with travel industry lobbyists who want to weaken or scrap a crucial law banning the promotion of cruel animal tourism, including elephant rides and tiger selfies. With ABTA intensifying its lobbying efforts, recent human fatalities linked to these activities, and government delays in meeting with animal welfare coalitions, we ask—is the UK backtracking on its promise to protect animals?
Stay with us as we speak to Duncan McNair, founder of STAE who was instrumental in getting the law passed.
