Action Hour goes live on the scene at Los Angeles Zoo for a protest to free captive elephant Billy as well as other elephants held in zoos on World Elephant Day. The L.A. protest was organized by Cory Mac, of Los Angeles For Animals to free Billy the elephant who has been held captive there for over 37 years, after being taken from his home. Correspondent Tony Shale reports live from L.A. zoo.
In the studio, Lindsey Baker hosts two noted elephant activists: Barbara Lovett, President of Save Nosey Now, Inc. and Mary Ann Holm, President of Lucy Edmonton Advocates Project. After decades in captivity, Nosey was just recently released to sanctuary in Tennessee while Lucy still remains in Canada in Edmonton Zoo. Learn what you can do to help to stop the use of elephants in zoos and in other forms of entertainment; and to finally free them all to sanctuaries.
