About JIVINITI: An initiative of The Virsa Foundation Inc., a Boston-based 501c3 nonprofit – JIVINITI is a multidimensional platform facilitating intersectional dialogue, high-impact public health research and collaboration via coalitioning amongst women plant-based and vegan leaders. Our mission includes an emphasis on diversity, equity, inclusivity and representation in research, creative outreach and communications solutions powered by a whole food plant-based, planet-friendly approach to address nutritional insecurity, burden of disease, and structural disparities globally. Part of how we do this is through a monthly podcast called: “Connecting the Dots”.
About the host: Nivi Jaswal MBA, NB-HWC, MVLC, is the founder and President of The Virsa Foundation, a 501c3 nonprofit in the Boston area. Corporate burnout and a series of cardio-metabolic diagnoses served as a wakeup call to Nivi and she found healing through a whole food plant-based approach to nutrition and subsequently, embraced a vegan ethic – both personally and professionally. Having transitioned from the world of marketing processed foods, beverages and planet-extractive personal care products, Nivi brings her in-depth expertise in consumer marketing, research and strategy to producing incisive evidence-based consumer advocacy content, speaking and mentoring young individuals in academic settings and coaching persons interested in lifestyle change that is a win-win-win for their health, for the animals and for the planet. An associate producer of the film, They’re Trying To Kill Us, - Nivi is also on the advisory board of Harvard Plant Futures, Cambridge Climate Society and an Executive Fellow at Woxsen University.
