UPDATE — 2025: Adidas has ended its use of kangaroo leather. The company stopped purchasing kangaroo leather in 2024 and confirmed in 2025 that it would end production of products containing the material. The change followed years of pressure from animal advocates, including protests targeting Adidas stores and the company’s leadership. The original video and description below document the campaign while advocates were still calling on Adidas to end its use of kangaroo skins.
The Center for a Humane Economy lauded Puma and Nike for pledging to end worldwide sales of kangaroo-based shoes by the end of 2023. This came after massive protests at Nike's flagship store in Manhattan, reported on by UnchainedTV affiliate TheirTurn.net. However, Adidas is reportedly continuing to use kangaroo leather, sparking outrage from animal activists and even more intense protests at the Adidas flagship store in Manhattan. This video shows one of those protests. We invite Adidas on at any time to respond to any of the protesters' comments. Visit https://theirturn.net/ for more.
