In a stunning press release, Point Reyes National Park Services is proposing to remove the three mile fence that retains the Tule Elk to an area where food and water are reportedly inadequate for their survival during droughts. The park's proposal to take down the fence sounds like the answer for the Tule elk; however cattle ranchers are in opposition to it. They claim it will be the demise of cattle ranching in Reyes Park Nation Reserve. Activists say the cows don't belong there in the first place; and they have overstayed their welcome.
