UnchainedTV is LIVE from Wisconsin: ATTORNEY ACTIVIST WAYNE HSIUNG JUST FREED FROM JAIL TALKS ABOUT THE MASSIVE BEAGLE RESCUE MAKING GLOBAL NEWS.
22 rescued beagles are reportedly safe in an undisclosed location as we are entering Day 3 of the high-stakes drama surrounding the Ridglan beagle breeding facility. More than 100 animal rights activists took part in Sunday’s massive "open rescue" of beagles, including Alexandra Paul, the former Baywatch actress and long-time animal advocate, and Wayne Hsiung, attorney and co-founder of Direct Action Everywhere.
Both Alexandra Paul and Wayne Hsiung were among more than two dozen people taken into custody after the mass rescue of beagles confined in cages and bred for experimentation. While 23 dogs reportedly reached safety, the situation remains critical: 8 rescued beagles were reportedly intercepted and taken from the arms of activists by authorities. Activists begged law enforcement not to return the dogs to the small cages inside the troubled facility.
Activists continue to mobilize to demand the Dane County, Wisconsin Sheriff’s Office return these vulnerable dogs to rescuers citing the history of allegations that the facility allowed non-veterinarians to conduct painful medical procedures on dogs without anesthesia. The Sheriff’s Dept. is schedule to hold a news conference today.
Ridglan Farms last year agreed shut down its dog sale and breed-for-sale operations by July 1, 2026, as part of an agreement to avoid criminal charges over allegations of animal cruelty. But, the facility was allowed to keep some dogs for its own research. Activists say about 2,000 beagles remain inside the facility and they want all those dogs removed and transitioned to good homes, saying there are people willing to take them in.
An attorney for the facility said, ”Ridglan Farms would like to thank local authorities for their rapid response which resulted in multiple arrests…We plan to press charges and hope those involved are punished the full extent of the law.” The company is invited on any time to comment further. Now, UnchainedTV’s Jane Velez-Mitchell and former law enforcement investigatorTiffany Brunelli and Ellen Dent, Animal Alliance Network President join LIVE coverage from the scene with reporter Amy Van Aartsen in Wisconsin.
