#UnchainedTV Breaking News from Austin Texas where the AVMA, American Veterinary Medical Association, is holding its convention as the spread of bird flu makes headlines. The mass slaughter of animals due to bird flu is also sparking growing controversy. The New York Times reports, “Since February 2022, more than 82 million farmed birds have been culled.” Meaning killed.

So, what is the AVMA doing about all this? One critic is Dr. Crystal Heath, a veterinarian herself, who leads the animal organization Our Honor. She is in Austin, Texas joining us LIVE to express her dismay over how the veterinary community is dealing with the mass killing of farmed animals.

Dr Heath condemns the mass killing method called Ventilation Shutdown Plus (VSD+), which she describes as, “sealing up barns, pumping in heat, and waiting for the birds inside to die in agony after many hours.” https://www.ourhonor.org/

Our Honor says, “More than 2,000 veterinarians have signed onto Veterinarians Against Ventilation Shutdown to ask the American Veterinary Medical Association to reclassify heatstroke-based killing as a ‘not recommended’ form of depopulation.” We invite the AVMA, and any other organization/company/government agency connected to this issue, on any time to respond.

Taxpayers are being forced to foot the bill for mass farmed animal killings. The New York Times reports, “Last year, the Department of Agriculture paid poultry producers more than half a billion dollars for the turkeys, chickens and egg-laying hens they were forced to kill after the flu strain, H5N1, was detected on their farms…”

Says Our Honor, “Since 2022, more than $715 million dollars of public funds have been granted to bail out corporations that used the cruelest methods to kill their animals during the highly pathogenic avian influenza outbreak. Their failure to put emergency plans in place to end the lives of their animals in less cruel ways led these corporations to resort to sealing up barns, pumping in heat, and waiting for the birds inside to die…”
