More than 800 animal advocates from more than 50 nations converged on Los Angeles for a giant brainstorming session on how to achieve their shared mission: removing animals from our food system as well as ending their use in fashion, entertainment and science. The speakers included Beyond Meat founder and CEO Ethan Brown who helped to kick off the conference. Renowned vegan advocate Tracye McQuirter, of By Any Greens Necessary, stirred the crowed with her closing ceremony keynote speech. In between were dozens of riveting panel discussions and meetups, where those gathered learned from each other and planned collaborations. And, watch this video to see the dramatic unveiling of an extraordinary new painting featuring more than 150 animals! The theme of this whole event was unity! This is arguably the most important social justice movement of our lifetimes as it impacts everything from climate change to human health, from wildlife extinction to pollution. Ending the unnecessary and cruel suffering of animals is also a moral issue that impacts billions of oppressed beings who cannot advocate for themselves.
