Oscar-nominated actor James Cromwell, who stars in the hit TV series Succession and is famous for Babe and many other films, has put his name and his fame out there in the ongoing struggle to get shoe brands to stop using kangaroo leather. Nike and Puma have already announced they will stop using kangaroo leather in the wake of widespread and global protests over the practice. Activists from TheirTurn, the Center for a Humane Economy and NYClass have now set their sights on Adidas, a holdout brand that has not yet announced it will stop having kangaroos killed for shoes. Dramatic in-store protests have been at the center of this battle, especially inside Manhattan flagship stores. We invite reps from Adidas and another industry shoe brand on to respond to the complaints of Mr. Cromwell and the other animal advocates.
