We must be doing something right because, wow, are they coming after us. The "us" under attack are vegans and companies offering vegan-products. The "they" is the meat industry which has launched a coordinated, multi-million dollar campaign against veganism using advertiser-based media, industry-funded academics and scientists, lobbyists and industry-friendly government agencies, like the USDA. Don't believe it? Check out this article in The Guardian:

So, let's dive in with our fantastic panel who've gathered at Soho House in West Hollywood to tackle this issue in a discussion sponsored by Sunday Supper, the makers of amazingly delicious vegan mozzarella sticks and lasagna. UnchainedTV's Jane Velez-Mitchell moderates the discussion featuring T.K. Pillan. As co-founder of Veggie Grill and Ground ForceCapital, T.K. has built a pioneering plant-based brand and business and worked closely alongside founders of multiple other breakout plant-based and sustainable businesses as an investor. He's also an advisor to Beyond Meat, Slutty Vegan and Joyful Ventures. Next to T.K. sits Tara Punzone, the owner and head chef of Pura Vita. Her vegan Italian restaurant chain, in West Hollywood and Redondo Beach, has won multiple awards and is considered one of the most successful vegan restaurants in the nation. Next to Tara, sits Fred Michaels, founder of Howl, a boxed, vegan Mac N' Cheese product taking the best supermarket aisles by storm. Michaels has since sold the brand. Generally, the most successful vegan brands get acquired. And, finally, meet the young woman who has created the world's most delectable status symbol: The Naughty Cookie. Jessica Motes was a model with a passion for baking. Her vegan Naughty Cookie has become a must-have treat for the fashionista crowd. It's for sale at Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus and other high-end stores. Even Martha Stewart is a fan. Thanks to Sunday Supper for sponsoring this important discussion.

Now, these experts in the vegan space discuss why mainstream media seems to have turned against veganism, publishing a slew of slanted and factually challenged news stories that attempt to demonize plant-based meat alternatives as "processed" while failing to mention that processed meat is officially cancer-causing, according to the World Health Organization.
