Dramatic Court Hearing in Goat Rescue Case

BREAKING: Dramatic developments in the trial of 4 Direct Action Everywhere (DxE) animal rights activists who rescued 2 baby goats from a Northern California goat farm! The charges have just been reduced from felonies to misdemeanors. The 4, Carla Cabral, Sally Zito, Joe Allman and Taj Uppal, could have served over 6 years in prison if convicted of felonies.
And, the judge is using his discretion to reportedly propose community service to avoid a trial. DxE calls this a major victory! Meanwhile, controversy continues to swirl around the District Attorney prosecuting this case. DxE alleges they’ve learned that the DA prosecuting them was previously the private attorney for the very farm from which the goats were rescued. The defendants call this a major conflict of interest.
Dead Pile Controversy
Also, there’s a continued tug of war over what DxE calls a giant dead pile of goats it photographed on the property. The DA says its investigation found “no merit to the allegations presented by DXE” yet also states “investigators found carcasses buried under manure” saying the farm, “disposes of deceased animals via composting - placing carcasses beneath manure piles.” So, is that just another description of the dead pile DxE photographed which shows exposed carcasses? The DA said to “compost” dead animals in this way “aligns with evolving state guidelines.” DxE challenges that assessment.
UnchainedTV reached out to Meyenberg Goat Milk, which this farm has supplied, which also says it found “no evidence to support the claims” by DxE. We tried to reach the farm itself but could find no website or contact information. The farm or any companies involved, as well as the DA, are invited on any time to respond.
Now, let’s hear here from the defendants themselves after this momentous court appearance.
