LIVE: On the 6th day of deliberation, Wayne Hsiung was found GUILTY on 3 counts, while the jury hung on a 4th count. In a shocking move, the judge ordered him to jail immediately with NO BAIL to await sentencing at the end of November. UnchainedTV has LIVE team coverage from the courthouse in Sonoma County, California. Wayne Hsiung now faces up to a year in prison for organizing what's called Open Rescues of suffering chickens and ducks inside animal factories. Hsiung, an attorney and former constitutional law professor, has defended himself against charges of trespass and conspiracy to trespass for mass open rescues involving many people rescuing dozens of chickens and ducks about 5 years ago. Prosecutors have been quoted as saying they want to "cut the head off the snake" of this movement. Jurors only got a glimpse of conditions inside these animal factories, certainly not the worst footage taken during the actions and during previous investigations. Defense witnesses described what they saw inside the factory farms, although the judge would not let them characterize it as cruelty. Our LIVE team coverage includes Direct Action Everywhere's Carla Cabral and Curtis Vollmer at the courthouse, with a slew of experts including defense attorney and former Manhattan Assistant District Attorney Nathan Semmel, UnchainedTV's Jane Velez-Mitchell, Lindsey Baker and Michelle Celestino, with several surprise guests!
