The Southern Resident Killer Whales (SRKW), a distinct population in the northwestern Pacific, are endangered due to threats such as the decline of their primary prey, Chinook salmon, pollution, and vessel noise. These orcas, known for their complex social structure, rely heavily on salmon, which has been dwindling due to environmental factors. As of July 2024, 14 SRKWs are classified as vulnerable, with several in poor body condition, raising concerns about their survival. The whales are an essential part of the delicate ecosystem of the sea and sea life. Please take action to save our sea life. Go to the website www.ceteceans.org for more information and to take action.
