VICTORY: JUDGE NIXES FAKE LA WETLANDS “RESTORATION”
46m
Cheers and tears of joy from animal lovers and environmentalists across Southern California as a judge sides with them and against the phony “restoration” of LA’s Ballona Wetlands, LA’s last coastal wetlands, home to 1,700 species, including threatened and endangered species. Up to 1-million animals would have seen their home wiped out! The plan to bulldoze the one-square-mile of wild fauna and wildlife over 10 years at a cost of $250+ was shot down by the judge. LA Superior Court Judge James C. Chalfant's 67-page opinion says the planned project failed to protect wildlife and failed to use correct flood risk standards in a densely populated area near the ocean! Oscar-nominated actor James Cromwell helped lead the battle against this flawed project and correctly predicted victory, saying,“We will win!” But, the battle is not over. Now, victorious attorneys Jamie Hall, Bryan Pease and DefendBallonaWetlands.org Lead Community Organizer Marcia Hanscom unpack this landmark decision with UnchainedTV’s Jane Velez-Mitchell.
