Simone Reyes is not only a talented country singer. She's also a passionate animal rescuer and vegan. When she's not writing lyrics, she can be found rescuing pigs, ducks, turkeys and cows, often making national news. When a herd of cows escaped from a Los Angeles slaughterhouse in 2021, Simone Reyes went into action and negotiated with the slaughterhouse owner to get two of the recaptured cows sent to Farm Sanctuary. She even got her friend, Emmy-winning songwriter Diane Warren, involved, which gave the story a celebrity angle. The two rescued cows are now living out their lives in peace and UnChained! The others, unfortunately, were slaughtered after their recapture. But, boy did they want to live... as much as you do.
