Watch wild twists and turns in the legal battle over a controversial Wisconsin facility that breeds beagles for laboratory experimentation. 3 animal activists were supposed to go on trial for entering and rescuing 3 beagles from that facility. But, just before the trial’s start, all charges were suddenly dropped. However, one of those activists, animal rights leader Wayne Hsiung, has now demanded that a Special Prosecutor be appointed to investigate the company in the hopes of having criminal cruelty charges filed against it for its treatment of the beagles. Now, on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at 7:00AM Pacific/9:00AM Central Time, a Dane County Judge will hear arguments in a zoom hearing that UnchainedTV will televise. Animal activists want key documents to bolster their case and have issued subpoenas to two of the breeding facility’s managers, including the facility’s veterinarian. Those managers are reportedly fighting back, seeking to avoid having to turn over the documents by filing a motion to quash the subpoenas. There’s an upcoming major hearing set for October so this virtual hearing will set the stage for what promises to be a courtroom battle.
