Meet DxE Undercover Investigator Making Headlines
48m
Raven Deerbrook put on a worker's disguise and infiltrated the Farmer John Pig Slaughterhouse near downtown LA, risking her life to plant cameras and transmitters to capture video and audio of what happens to pigs when they go into the gas chamber. The video she produced is so horrifying, it's making headlines in the New York Times, Wired Magazine, San Francisco Chronicle and other major outlets. Now, Raven sits down with UnchainedTV's Jane Velez-Mitchell to reveal how and why she did it, tell us about the moments she thought she might die and discuss the nightmares she's had ever since. Raven urges people to visit https://www.stopgaschambers.org/ to sign petitions to end animal gas chambers. Raven feels her footage shows what's happening is illegal. Smithfield, the company that runs Farmer John slaughterhouse, which has since been shut down, says “Smithfield is committed to the safety, health, and comfort of our animals and strictly follows approved laws, regulations and best practices for humane animal stunning prior to harvest. We adhere to all humane handling and stunning regulations for livestock with the oversight of the United States Department of Agriculture Food Safety and Inspection Service.” We invite Smithfield on to respond further.
