Believe it or not, this happens a lot. Cattle ranchers do fall in love with some of the members of their herd and just can't bring themselves to send that particular animal to slaughter. That's what happened with Buster, who ended up getting bottle fed by Renee King-Sonnen of the Rowdy Girl Sanctuary in Texas. Renee praises the cattle rancher for having a change of heart and "saving this sweet child." When you save a life, you've saved the world... for that one life.
