Like many calves in the nightmarish world of industrialized animal agriculture, Brownie was ripped from his mother immediately after birth. Still dripping wet from afterbirth, he was tossed onto a truck. He almost didn't make it. Thankfully, he was taken in by kind people who raised him with compassion. Then, an unexpected illness and the resulting expenses forced that family to send Brownie to sanctuary. They brought him to Rowdy Girl Sanctuary in Texas where Renee King-Sonnen and her husband Tommy Sonnen were determined to give Brownie all the love and support he required to blend in and life a joyous life with the other rescued cows... and pigs, goats, turkeys, chickens and lambs.
