Kindness Town is a musical short film that tells the story of a group of puppets who learn what they are made of, and decide to make some changes. "We might not be able to change the whole world, but we can change our little part of it." Special appearance by world famous puppeteer Sid Krofft.
“Kindness Town” pioneers a revolutionary approach to children’s programming by firmly embedding animal liberation principles into its foundation, starkly contrasting with “Sesame Street.” Unlike “Sesame Street,” which has been critiqued for promoting carnism through pro-cow's milk videos and theme parks like Sea World, “Kindness Town” commits to exclusively vegan values. Every aspect of the show—from the food depicted and the materials used for merchandise to the educational content—upholds cruelty-free and sustainable practices. By portraying animals as equals and focusing on ethical partnerships, “Kindness Town” educates and inspires the next generation to embrace compassion and respect for all living beings, making it a true beacon of kindness in children’s media.
Jess McKay is a puppet artist, musician, and filmmaker and activist based in Los Angeles, CA. His puppet work includes projects with Disney, The Jim Henson Company, Universal, and Sesame Studios. He works to make the world a better place though storytelling and art.
