The Spork Sisters are truly legends in the plant-based cooking scene. Their long-running cooking classes were wildly popular as are their 2 cookbooks: Spork Fed and Vegan 101. Now, Heather Bell and Jenny Engel have taken on the dream of opening a restaurant. It's in fashionably retro Culver City, California. It's called Hey Sunshine Kitchen. The atmosphere is sunny. The food is splendid. The most amazing thing about this modestly sized restaurant is that it offers gourmet food at fast food prices.
Because it's designed as a casual dining spot, visitors might be surprised at the extraordinary quality and sophistication of the menus items. Their entrées blew OMG! LA host Michelle Celestino away. Fiesta Carnitas, "Chicken" Cesar, Hearty "Beef" Crumble, Backyard BBQ Tofu, Baja "Fish" Tacos, MacNCheese, Chickpea Nuggets and so much more, including your traditional burgers and sweet potato fries and... and... You'll just have to go and try it out. The sauces alone are astounding. Leave room for warm, homemade cookies for dessert. This restaurant is a 5-Star experience.
