This Halloween weekend, Toronto becomes the heart of the global vegan movement. From Friday, October 31 to Sunday, November 2, 2025, join an unprecedented fusion of storytelling, advocacy, and vision — all unfolding across the International Vegan Film Festival (IVFF) and VCOP23, the Vegan Convergence of the Peoples.
IVFF explodes into a three-day celebration, screening 38 compelling films (including six features) selected from a record 56 submissions. This is more than a festival — it’s a statement of momentum.
One of the highlights is the crowd-pleasing feature Coffee Wars, the story of Jo, a vegan barista underdog battling dairy dominance on the world’s biggest coffee stage. Packed with laughs, caffeine, and purpose, it's a heartwarming rally cry for plant-based living.
Meanwhile, just steps away at Wishbone Animal Rights Lab, VCOP23 will unite visionaries and activists from around the globe. Taking place Saturday and Sunday, 10 AM – 5 PM, this in-person converge of activists will create a Proclamation — a bold framework for building a post-crisis, plant-based world. Join one of the seven Task Forces focused on everything from media leverage to institutional reform and justice framing. UnchainedTV is filming a documentary on the convergence and you can be in it.
Each night, IVFF offers curated screenings with distinct themes. Friday’s Halloween launch party sets the tone for a weekend of ideas and energy. On Saturday, World Vegan Day, three programs celebrate 80 years of progress in ethical living, plant-based health, and environmental stewardship. Sunday features the Animal Advocacy lineup, including the unveiling of the Vegan-Themed Feature Film award winner.
If you want to be a part of this history-making weekend, sign up for both the IVFF and the VCOP event here:

Toronto will be alive with activism, art, and adrenaline — a place where stories are told, futures are designed, and compassion takes center stage.
Whether you're a coffee lover, a vegan strategist, or simply curious about what a plant-based world would look like, this weekend is your moment to plug in, power up, and be part of the transformation. It could save the planet.
Now, UnchainedTV’s Jane Velez-Mitchell dives deep with Coffee Wars Producer Jody Savin, Director Randall Miller and Co-producer Jason Allen, and IVFF Executive Director Ray Kowalchuk.
