Critics say prosecutors have teamed up with the judge, a former prosecutor herself, to try and imprison Wayne Hsiung, the leader of the Open Rescue movement that is taking sick and suffering animals out of California factory farms and slaughterhouses. Now, Judge Laura Passaglia has ruled the prosecution can play video of the animal rescue actions at the heart of the case, while editing out ANY video of the suffering animals who were being rescued. The judge has warned, if anyone even tries to talk about animal cruelty, she will declare a mistrial. What is going on here? Will the jurors see through this attempt to edit out the reality of our factory farming system? Additionally, the judge has gagged the defense and banned a sketch artist from even drawing sketches of the judge, witnesses or prosecutors. UnchainedTV’s Jane Velez-Mitchell, defense attorney and former Manhattan Asst District Attorney Nathan Semmel, TheirTurn’s Donny Moss, UnchainedTV host Michelle Celestino, Animal Alliance Network’s Ellen Dent, Action Hour’s Lindsey Baker join Direct Action Everywhere’s Carla Cabral, who is at the courthouse, to get the latest on this shocking and disturbing criminal trial.
