Explosive Testimony in Animal Rights Trial
News • 1h 16m
Shocking testimony in the animal rights trial of Wayne Hsiung, considered a leader in the animal rights movement. He is defending himself in a California courtroom on charges that could land him in prison. Hsiung is a lawyer and former constitutional law professor who is brilliant at cross-examination. Find out what he's been able to learn about what's happening inside massive animal factories in California. Hint: the word cannibalism has come up. Hsiung, who is the co-founder of Direct Action Everywhere and considered the leader of the "Open Rescue" movement argues people have a right to rescue suffering animals inside animal factories, just as they would be hailed as heroes for rescuing a dog or child left inside a hot car. He openly admits to organizing open rescues at a duck and chicken factory, but argues he has the right to do so. The jury has now seen a couple of videos offering a mere glimpse of conditions inside those factories. UnchainedTV's LIVE team coverage takes you straight to the Sonoma County courthouse for the latest from DxE's Carla Cabral, Defense attorney and former Manhattan DA Nathan Semmel, TheirTurn.net's Donny Moss, Animal Alliance Network's Ellen Dent and the UnchainedTV team: Jane Velez-Mitchell, Lindsey Baker and Michelle Celestino. DxE's Curtis Volmer as a special guest.
